Our Story

I’ve spent my entire working life in the landscaping world. I started at the bottom—doing the jobs most people avoid—and worked my way through almost every role this industry has to offer. Crew member, landscape designer,, operations leadership, and general manger all by the age of 25. I’ve worn every hat and seen how this business actually works behind the scenes.

Over the years, I’ve worked with and learned from some of the top landscaping companies in the country. I saw the good, the bad, and everything in between. I saw crews who took pride in their craft, and others who cut corners. I saw homeowners who were thrilled with their projects, and others who were left frustrated because nobody communicated with them or explained what was happening in their own yard.

The part that always stuck with me was how often the problems had nothing to do with “landscaping” at all—they were issues with communication, clarity, honesty, and planning. Most homeowners don’t need a sales pitch; they need someone who listens, understands what they want, and has the experience to guide them toward a design that actually fits their property and budget.

That’s why I started GTJ Designs.
Not to be another landscaping company…
But to raise the standard for how this industry serves people.

My goal is simple:

• Be the company that actually calls people back.
• Show up when we say we will.
• Give honest, practical recommendations (even if the answer isn’t what someone expected.)
• Design outdoor spaces that last, not quick fixes that fall apart next season.
• Treat every property like it’s our own.

I built GTJ Designs with the belief that homeowners deserve more than rushed quotes and guesswork. They deserve detailed 2D and 3D plans, clear communication, and a team that truly respects their home and their time.

At the end of the day, this business isn’t really about plants, stone, edging, or equipment. It’s about helping families enjoy their homes, create spaces they’re proud of, and finally feel like someone is on their side throughout the entire process.
